Vice President, Development

Don Buchholz

Don leads development efforts for Korsail Energy. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development and management of renewable energy projects including market analysis, site identification, community and landowner outreach, property leases, feasibility studies, and state and local permitting.

He brings years of solar and commercial real estate development experience to the team with previous project development roles at Silicon Ranch and Hexagon Energy. Don holds a B.S. in Engineering Science and an M.E. in Civil Engineering, both from Vanderbilt University.

DEVELOPMENT Analyst

Hannah Alford 

Hannah supports solar project development by identifying land, performing diligence, negotiating purchase and lease agreements, and managing local and national permitting on multiple projects across the county.

Hannah’s area of expertise is in electrical infrastructure design, permitting, and GIS. Hannah holds a BA in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder.

dEVELOPMENT Analyst

Stephen Maloney

Stephen supports the development of utility-scale solar projects from initial land search efforts through NTP. Some of his responsibilities include obtaining Engineering, Procurement, and Construction bids for projects, negotiating purchase and lease agreements, and market research.

He has over a year of real estate experience and utilizes his proficiency in financial analysis to evaluate utility-scale projects. Stephen holds a BS in Real Estate having graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder – Leeds School of Business.

Development Engineer

Shalin Soni

Shalin provides high value engineering outline and analysis for the development of solar projects. He is responsible for the design of solar plus storage projects, submission of interconnection applications, maintaining utility relations, and managing a portfolio of projects from initial submission through project closeout.

He has over two years of experience as an engineer in the commercial solar field. Shalin holds an M.S. in Energy Systems from Northeastern University.

Policy analyst

Scott Meyers

Scott provides critical research and analytical writing skills throughout the development of solar projects. He supports the team by supplying vital information, collaborating at each developmental stage, and providing quality insights into the public policy landscape. Scott’s work is driven by his passion for a sustainable future in which all people have access to affordable, zero carbon energy.

He has several years of experience in the public policy and sustainability sectors which bolstered his analytical research skills. Scott holds a BA in Political Science from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University.
